MGMCL
Maddhapara Granite Mining Company Limited, established in 1998 under Petrobangla, operates Bangladesh's only hard rock mine — extracting granite from Precambrian basement rocks at Parbatipur, Dinajpur, a deposit discovered by the Geological Survey of Bangladesh in 1974. The mine produces crushed granite aggregate used in major national infrastructure projects including the Padma Bridge. Mining geologists and rock mechanics engineers at MGMCL work on blast design, stope planning, rock quality assessment, and geotechnical stability of the underground workings.
