GSB
The Geological Survey of Bangladesh is the national geoscience authority under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, established immediately after independence in 1971. GSB conducts systematic geological, geochemical, and geophysical surveys to map and assess the country's mineral, hydrocarbon, and groundwater resources. It evaluates natural hazards, maintains geological databases, and provides technical advisory services to the government and private sector. Geoscientists at GSB carry out field mapping, borehole drilling, laboratory analysis, and GIS-based resource assessments across all 64 districts of Bangladesh.
