DAE
The Department of Agricultural Extension under the Ministry of Agriculture operates the Soil Wing — one of its largest divisions — which advises farmers on soil health, fertilizer use, and land management across all 64 districts of Bangladesh. DAE extension officers working in the soil science domain conduct soil testing, land suitability assessments, and monitor the impact of climate-induced soil salinity and waterlogging on agricultural productivity. GIS is increasingly used in DAE for precision agriculture mapping and extension planning. Soil scientists and agricultural environmental specialists find field-based positions throughout Bangladesh's upazila network.
