CPA
Chattogram Port Authority, established on 1 October 1950, manages Bangladesh's principal seaport handling over 90% of the country's international trade. CPA has a dedicated hydrographic department conducting regular bathymetric surveys of the Karnaphuli River channel to maintain navigation depth. Hydrographic surveyors, dredging engineers, and environmental officers at CPA work on channel maintenance, coastal erosion monitoring, and environmental compliance for port operations. Geotechnical engineers design berths and breakwaters in the challenging alluvial and tidal environments of the Karnaphuli estuary.
