BRRI
Bangladesh Rice Research Institute, established in 1970 in Gazipur, is the national institute for rice research under the Ministry of Agriculture, operating 19 research divisions including soil science and agronomy. BRRI conducts extensive research on soil fertility, soil-water-plant relationships, salinity tolerance, and land management for rice cultivation across Bangladesh's diverse agroecological zones. Soil scientists and environmental researchers at BRRI work on soil health assessment, nutrient management trials, and GIS-based land suitability analysis for rice production.
