BAEC
Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, established in 1973 under the Ministry of Science and Technology, promotes peaceful uses of atomic energy including nuclear power, isotope applications, and radiation monitoring. BAEC's isotope hydrology program uses radioactive tracers to investigate groundwater flow, recharge rates, and contamination pathways — making it a specialized employer for hydrogeologists and environmental scientists. Geologists at BAEC are also involved in site characterization for the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant and radioactive waste disposal site investigation in northern Bangladesh.
